How Does the 2020 Kia Forte Perform?
Under the hood, the 2020 Forte is equipped with a reliable turbocharged engine. Modern technologies support the power of the Forte, to make sure that it’s easy to handle, comfortable to drive, and safe for all passengers.
The heart of the new Forte GT is the 201 horsepower turbocharged engine. It provides 195 lb-ft of torque and features a custom-tuned high flow active exhaust.
Standard 7-speed Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission allows for total control of the turbocharged engine through the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Forte also has an option for three-pedal driving with the available 6-Speed Manual Transmission.
The reinforced steel body helps provide added structural strength, better stability and a quieter ride. With six airbags and sensors to manage airbag inflation, the Forte is built for safety in the event of an accident.
Safety systems include the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW). The BCW is standard for Forte EX, and will alert drivers with an indicator light on the outside mirrors if it detects vehicles in its blind spot. The available High Beam Assist (HBA) systems automatically dim the high beams for oncoming vehicles. When the vehicle passes, the system returns to the higher setting.
For road traction and braking, the available Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Control, and Antilock Braking Systems help drivers navigate difficult road conditions. These systems reduce wheel spin and skidding in certain circumstances.
Connecting All of Your Media Together
The Forte includes hands-free designed systems to help drivers and passengers travel in comfort. With all of the technology available for communicating, listening to music, and using GPS, the Forte console can bring everything together effortlessly.
Making calls, sending hands-free texts and talking to Siri are features that come standard with Apple CarPlay. The easiest way to access your compatible iPhone features is on Forte’s 8” touchscreen display. The available Voice Command Navigation System can also help you access all additional applications, like GPS.
The Forte is also compatible with Android smartphones and uses Standard Android Auto to send and receive calls and texts via voice. Standard Android Auto also helps to access features like Google Maps on the Forte’s digital screen.
Outside of the vehicle, the available Smart Trunk feature allows you to open the trunk without using your hands, feet. Simply stand directly behind the vehicle with the key fob remaining in pockets or purses, the truck will open automatically.
