There’s no reason to be bored this time of year! With plenty of events to drive your Kia to this summer, you’ll find lots to do. Here are six events that will have you leaping up off your couch and hitting the road.
TD Songs of Summer (June 13 - Sept 1, 6 PM to 9 PM)
A month-long event for the whole family, Downtown Oakville’s Songs of Summer Series is a fun-filled time with music, movies, exercise and more. Movies will be shown in Towne Square on Thursdays, Fridays will feature live music and yoga, and family activities will take place on weekend afternoons. Midnight Madness (July 19-July 20, 6 PM to 12 AM)
Another great event staged in Downtown Oakville, Midnight Madness takes over six blocks with live music, free family-friendly entertainment and plenty of shopping deals to be had. Parks Day in Canada (July 20)
If you like to hike, picnic, swim or play, you’ll love Parks Day Canada. This event is held on July 20 in Bronte Creek Provincial Park. South Asian Festival (Friday, August 9, 6-11:00 PM)
Going into its 14th year the South Asian Festival of Mississauga is back and bigger than ever before. Featuring live music, Bollywood actors, food, folklore and shopping, the festival promises a good time for the whole family. Water Lantern Festival (Saturday, August 10, 6-10:30 PM)
An international event with locations across Canada, the Water Lantern Festival is coming to Mississauga. Launching thousands of water lanterns at Port Credit Memorial Park, thousands of friends and family come together for this special night that never to be forgotten. Royal Canadian Family Circus (August 1-5)
The Royal Canadian Family Circus is all about death-defying stunts, hilarious clowns, and feats of strength and balance. Coming to the Mississauga Sheridan Centre. And don’t worry, since three years ago the circus no longer has exotic or endangered animals. The shows are all about amazing displays by elite human performers that will have you gasping.
